Welcome 2023!

I always love a new year! It is fun to see the new lambs and see what the planned breedings produce. We shear on February 16th, and start lambing on March 15th. Dan and I have both retired this year and are looking forward to having more time to spend with the sheep.

Last summer we got two new border collie puppies. They are half brothers, born two weeks apart. Shown below, from left to right, is Sonny, Czar and our experienced border collie Mia. They have great instincts and are learning how to channel their energy so they can help (actually they think they are always helping even when they aren't!). They are very focused dogs. Czar has learned how to go over or through any fence or gate that is in his way to helping out. Sonny has a fierce eye and stares down the sheep. Both are very enthusiastic and love to help. Mia just tells them to get out of the way and do what she says! We enjoy having more time to work with the dogs. It will be fun to see how they do with the upcoming lambing... I can't wait!
