Every year I have ewes that go around helping other ewes when they lamb. Usually it is a ewe that is close to lambing, like the white ewe in the picture. This year the ewe in the middle - Isidore - does not appear to be bred but has helped with 80% of all births this year. She helps clean off the lambs, keeps them together while the ewe lambs, then helps get the mom and babies to the lambing pens. Her reward - a handful of corn for a job well done!
